July Currently (what is trending right now?)

I can't believe it is almost JULY!! I love July because it is one month closer to my birthday in August! My mom's birthday is in July and who can forget the 4th of JULY! This year I am going to my friends cottage and going to another country concert on the 5th! :) I will be blogging about that soon! I also start tutoring this month--can't wait to help students with both Math and my favorite ELA skills over the summer! How can I forget Brad Paisley concert AND Toby Keith concerts this month ;)

This month is extra special because I am going to Boston for the week at the end of the month to visit my sister --to see her new house, go see her wedding venue in Portsmouth, NH as well as their engagement party! ( I will be posting all the exciting trends for that at a later post!) My sister sent me a picture yesterday of her outfit and the text said "blog inspiration" so of course I have to share it with all of you (she is more of a fashionista then myself)
This outfit is super fun for going out to dinner or a special occasion in the summer! White and black is very classic and always on trend. Here she has a peplum black tank with white shorts and wedges to finish off the piece. To add a pop of color: wear a great necklace or earrings. Don't forget about a clutch or crossbody bag with color!

Now onto what I am Currently doing....

I wanted to link up today with Farley over at Oh' Boy Fourth Grade
She is so inspiring and I LOVE this idea of currently...

Listening-- I am not afraid to admit that I am obsessed with real housewives of orange county (the original reality tv on BRAVO)-- absolutely a guilty pleasure! I can't help but laugh at the way they act and the silly things they do and say and how scripted this "reality" is....I guess that's why they call in reality tv (because it is not really reality). But I don't mind even watching the reruns on the weekends--and who doesn't love all the drama!

Loving-- As I have mentioned before, I am LOVING summer vacation. This whole week was relaxing and fun. Bridal shower yesterday with my mom's side of the family...my cousin Nevin is getting married in September and Emilia's shower was yesterday! Everything at her shower was trending--so I just HAVE TO share with all of you!  It was so great to see my family and enjoy some delicious food and wine.
Here were the party favors...PINTERST alert!!! "Nevin popped the question...and she said yes!" Beautiful and amazing idea :)
Isn't this cake absolutely gorgeous-- and it was delicious.
Tortellini with broccoli and tomatoes with an olive oil garlic sauce. To die for!

I am also LOVING when I get to spend some quality time with my two favorite dogs Charley and Riley!

Riley is back by the pillows he is 13 years old. Charley is the closest to you in the picture--he is just 4 years old! Aren't they just adorable---I am sure I will be talking about them a lot in my posts, I just can't get enough of them!!

Thinking--- I actually did go on a hour walk along the canal with my friend Meredith today. It was HOT--but well worth it :) As I was filling out my currently, my friend texted me, it was perfect timing!!
Wanting-- I am sure everyone is wanting this...but I WANT to go to FLORIDA! I just took my parents to the airport this morning and they are going to be in Florida for the week---so jealous of them!! We have a house down there near Venice and its beautiful. I want to be relaxing by the pool or going to the beach (looking for sharks teeth)...I hope to go at the end of August before schools starts up again. Fingers crossed !

Needing-- I need a good facial for summer sun, especially one with exfoliation. I may just have to treat myself (maybe an early birthday present?!?) Also I am needing a new outfit---of course right? I am working at LOFT today (so maybe there will be something amaze there to pick up!) I can never have enough summer dresses in my closet!!

Tips, Tricks or hints-- be bold, be italic, never regular. I thought this was catching and really goes with my "pop of color" inspired blog. However, I always believe that when it comes down to it--be you! I am so excited to be sharing all my thoughts and ideas on this blog with each and everyone of you!

I also want to link up with Diane at Fifth in the Middle  She is hosted a wonderful linky where bloggers link up by state!  Thank you Holly at  Fourth Grade Flipper  who suggested it to me! Amazing--I cannot wait to see all the other bloggers from NY. Go check it out and link up for your state!

Five for Friday (first linky and sooo excited!!)

It's already Friday and I am loving everything that has to do with this blog! I could barely sleep last night because I wanted to blog today! I am learning so much already...even if it is day 2!! (I can be optimistic right?)

Five for Friday is today so I wanted to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching! Hopefully this goes okay!! But I thought this would be a great way to share what I have been doing this week, since it was my first full week off from teaching and to share with you how I got started with this blog!

First, I have to thank Christi Fultz again for this wonderful blog design. Please check out her at Design by Christi  If you are just starting a blog, or need a new design she IS the place to go!! She is absolutely WONDERFUL and really brought my vision to life!! Christi gives you a set time frame for when she will work on your blog, she keeps in contact with you and really listens to what you want, it was so easy and efficient. She was able to answer any questions I had, even beginner questions! You should really check out her work as well as her teacher blog here at Ms. Fultz's Corner

Number 2-- Summer Vacation is here!!! I have been on summer vacation for a week now and it has been a wonderful time to relax before I start tutoring and working at LOFT!! On Sunday I went to the Zac Brown Band Concert at Darien Lake in Buffalo, NY-- I love country music!! It was a great sunny day with friends to kick of the summer ( a couple of us in this picture are teachers so we were very happy about the break!)  This summer I will be going to many country concerts so I am sure you will be hearing a lot about those! What is your favorite thing to do over the summer? What other things are you going to be doing this summer?

The two components of this blog are teaching and fashion-- so rightfully so, I have to mention something about fashion! My first week of Summer Vacation wouldn't be complete without a few "purchases" (as my sister and I like to call them)-- a few necklaces, 2 dresses and a new wallet!!  I love bright color statement necklaces either paired with a simple dress or a dress with a pattern! There is so much you can do this summer to mix it up and add a pop of color!
This is a dress from Anthropologie and the necklace is from Francesca's The simple grey dress with the two-toned blue necklace is fun for summer! Whether you are just hanging out with friends, going out to dinner or out for the night--this will surely make a statement! If you need more color--add a skinny belt for an extra pop!
Both the dress and the necklace in this picture are from Francesca's! Don't you just LOVE the mint green with coral necklace!?! I can't wait to wear this combo when it finally stops raining!
I finally made my first trip to The Melting Pot with my friend Colleen on Monday. I CANNOT believe I have never been there before-- it was absolutely fantastic! Cheese and Chocolate--who wouldn't love that! The Melting Pot is a restaurant that serves fondue in a million different varieties. We chose the Fiesta Cheese Fondue (almost like Queso--which Colleen and I are obsessed with!) The waitress made the fondue in front of us and gave us many choices for "dippers." There were carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, bread, tortilla chips, and apples for our cheese fondue. Yummm! We then shared a flatbread which was to DIE for! For dessert (because you cannot go to a fondue restaurant without getting a chocolate fondue dessert) we shared the S'mores Fondue. You won't even believe the "dippers" that you could eat with this-- strawberries, bananas, cheesecake, pound cake, brownies, marshmallows covered with graham crackers or oreos, and rice krispie treats. Doesn't it just sound like HEAVEN! Take a look at the pictures below-- you should definitely check it out if you have The Melting Pot in your city!

I just got called into LOFT to work! So I had to cut the post short. Have a wonderful day!

"Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak" - Rachel Zoe

Here goes my first post as a blogger!! I am excited to start this journey and share with you my two passions: teaching and fashion!! Throughout this blog you will see my classroom ideas, inspirations for the classroom, and all things common core. You will also see what fashion styles are in and "what not to wear" tips and tricks. The main pages for Trending Classroom Trending Closet and Score a Great Sale will all feature specific ideas for each. Score a great sale will help all those who want a sale -- for their classroom or closet!

This past year was my first year of being a full time teacher and I was so inspired by a colleague and fellow blogger to begin my own!! I have been obsessed with Pinterest, TpT and reading all other blogs basically everyday, that I needed a place to share my own ideas!!  I also work part time at LOFT-- which brings in my love for clothes, shoes, handbags and jewelry! So here goes nothing....

Before I begin i really need to thank some people who have helped me along the way. My family and friends for their ideas, thoughts and support for getting started . Thank you so much Holly at Fourth Grade Flipper for all of your guidance in setting up this blog!! I am beyond lucky to be working with you as well as many amazing colleagues who have inspired me as a first year teacher!!
