Friday Fabulist-- newest link up that you just have to join!!

Welcome to.....Friday Fabulist..You are probably thinking...Friday WHATT??

Friday Fab-U-List. A list of everything fabulous!

This is the newest link up out there so you definitely don't want to miss out on the fun!!

Thank you to Christi Fultz over at Designs by Christi for this wonderful button design!!! (She also designed my blog--love it!)

Okay---just grab this button above, read the post below and don't forget to link back to this post !! Come on..you know you want to join in on the fabulist!

This is how it works:

Okay so it is called....Friday Fabulist
It is going to be about showing off something "fabulous." Whether it is in your classroom or your closet. Either one will work..since I LOVE both (and I know most of you do too)!!
SOO...What is ONE thing that you just bought (stitchfix friends)...already have....or something you just have to have (dream closet or dream classroom)..that is absolutely fabulous! Any piece of clothing or accessory trend that you are in love with, a new product for your classroom that you can't live without, a fabulous find at the store.... anything that can be added to the "fabulist." Hopefully we can come together and share what is on each of our fabulists!

I don't mind posts about TPT products but please don't use this link up to advertise for your store! Thanks so much :)

My first Friday Fabulist is my newest Alex and Ani Braclet!!! Don't get me wrong..I love the dangle braclets..but the new designs called "studs" are FABULOUS!

Look at how fabulous these sole society shoes are....these are something on my "I really really want Fabulist"Ahh maybe someday......

I know I posted about these books...but I have to add them to the Fabulist...I LOVE brand new classroom library books!!!

What do you want to add to the fabulist?!

I will keep this open for a week as it is my first link up!!

fun happenings-SLANTbox, StitchFix, Teacher Appreciation!

There are a lot of fun things that have happened so far this week!

First I am participating in SLANTbox with Jameson from Lessons with Coffee for the first time!! I am paired up with two amazing teachers Erin over at A Piece of the Apple and Mandee over at Mrs. Ashline's 4th Grade

SLANT means Sending Love Across the Nation to Teachers. I LOVE this idea and the fact that I am obsessed with all these boxes lately :) Here are the rules from Jameson's Blog:
Definitely join in the fun for JUNE!

Speaking of boxes...guess what showed up on my doorstep on Tuesday?!?!

STITCH FIX....the best mail in the world. It was waiting at my front door when I got home from chaperoning JV softball.  What a pretty package!

check out Stitch Fix, an online personal styling service

In case you didn't read my first review found here

Your stylist will send you a little note to tell you why they chose the pieces they did for your fix.

Your stylist will send you these style cards that match with the pieces sent. A great idea for those that struggle with matching signature pieces and mixing up textures and colors.

Here were all of my pieces :) Love the colors...was not a fan of most in my fix...hopefully my stylist and I will get on the same page soon! I am keeping a positive mind since it was only my second fix.

First I tried on the necklace. Love the idea of the statement necklace,,,but I usually like gold toned necklaces...so back it went.

Check out what you can get in your fix here!

This piece was very form fitting and I do not like that as much as a loose tunic or blouse. It was also a little pricy for what you got. So I didn't keep this either.

I also tried on a peplum tank top..I don't even have a picture because it was not good! It was a crop top peplum...hmm. Interesting and was definitely not flattering like I thought it would be! I was excited when I saw I was getting a peplum top..but disappointed once I saw it out of the box.

I kept asking for dresses in my fix so I was glad when I saw that I had two! I LOVED One and HATED the other...can you guess which one I LOVED?!

If you guess the one in the RIGHT you are correct. The MAXI was really flattering on and even though it is low cut..I can wear a tank top under it for school.

The one on the left...was a bright blue color (better picture if you scroll back up) this is an eyelet dress. I was not a fan..the eyelet hanging over the edge of the dress made is seem unfinished and I just did not like the plastic looking belt that went a long with it.

I did write really specific feedback this time in all the note sections at checkout. I am hoping with my feedback and my more detailed style profile my next fix will be spot on! For those of you trying out stitch fix..make sure you are as specific as you can be about what you like and don't like!!
So you win some and you lose some...I only kept the black and white striped maxi dress...I know what you are all thinking...but a girl can never have too many maxis! Especially heading into spring and summer!! Even though I kept only one piece...I still think Stitch Fix is fun and exciting. Everyone should check it out at least once! Click here to find out more about stitch fix!

I scheduled to receive my fixes every 2-3 weeks..so my next delivery is May 27th!! I can't wait because this is right after my sister's wedding!! Perfect just in time for JUNE.

Also...as you all know it is Teacher Appreciation week. I just have to give a shout out to our Elementary PTC and to our principal who is definitely making this week special!

We had icecream sundaes today with our lunch and Friday we will have a special luncheon. Thank you for all the love this week :)

I hope you can all appreciate my new TPT store. I would love the support as I continue to grow and make new items to share with all of you!! I promise to follow you all in return too!

Positive Thinking

Today was an extremely long day at work and by the end of it...I had a headache. I don't know if it was because I was out yesterday or what. But yikesss...I was not thinking positively!
I knew that when I got home that I would be blogging and it just so happens that today I am linking up with Mrs. Lauffin's Laughings for Positive Thinking Thursday
It could not have been a better choice for my post today.

How an EMAIL made my day :)

Sometimes reading emails (from 3 different accounts)...can be extremely daunting and overwhelming.  I don't know about you...but I don't come across many emails that I enjoy reading!

Except for todayyyy. Now I may be just a tad bit excited about this....

I don't know if Stitch Fix does this for everyone (If they do, I didn't know it..but I'm still excited! haha)...but it was really nice to open this up on my email after a longggg day of 6th Grade ELA SCORING! Yuck.

Disclaimer...I did not write to Stitch Fix about my fix. I have just been blogging about it and uploading pictures to my Instagram and Pinterest Board. They did not tell me to write this or any other post and I am not getting compensated for anything that I do or say. This is just my own love for fashion and excitement about receiving packages in the mail!

Happy hump day ! :)

Wordless Wednesday- Scarves

Today I am linking up with again Christina (Miss DeCarbo at Sugar and Spice!!) I love this idea of Wordless Wednesday. See her post from today and link up here

A picture is worth a thousand words.

While I was working at LOFT this past week..I picked up a few scarves for some teacher friends who wanted a little spring pop of color. What do you think of these scarves?!?! (Don't mind the green and orange straps---those are from my reusable wegmans bags.) Yes--I did take this picture in my car haha one of my coworkers wanted to see what they looked like :)

What are you adding to your wardrobe for this spring to wear to school?! :)
OR What are you doing for the appreciation days/weeks or EOY gifts?!

Tried it Tuesday- Stitch Fix Arrived!!! Fix Review #1

Yessss best Tuesday ever! Yesterday when I got back to my apartment from being at my parents for Spring Break...there on the front porch was my STITCH FIX! Wooo. I couldn't have been more excited to get home.
Of course the first thing I did (instead of unpack) was open the box!!!
So I am linking up with Holly over at Fourth Grade Flipper for this tried it Tuesday...which I "tried" on all of my stitch fix pieces.

check out Stitch Fix, an online personal styling serviceOkay so for those of you who do not know about Stitch Fix...it is amazing.
I found out about it through blogging (oh the wonderful things you learn through blogging!!) I just loved the idea...especially being obsessed with fashion and clothes. I just had to try to out! So all you have to do is  pay a $20 styling fee to get a "fix" and five clothing/accessory items are sent to your home.
Then you get to try them on, in the convenience of your home. If you LOVE all five pieces you can receive 25% off your purchase. Or you can keep whatever you want or none at all (If you don't keep anything..you still have to pay the $20 styling fee) -- If you do decide to keep anything, your $20 styling fee goes towards your purchase. How amazing is that!? Even if you just like one piece from your fix..it is totally worth it!

To get started..before you schedule a fix, you get to fill out a style profile and let your stylist know exactly what you like and what you don't like. Be as specific as you can--  what type of items you do or do not want sent to you. Best part is you can pick price ranges as well as different styles--- So if you request clothing items around $50-100 a piece, you won't get sent anything above that like a $200 dress. Below are what some questions are on your profile.

Some important things that I figured out from reading other blogs and following boards on pinterest.....
(1) Be detailed in your style profile.  The more info you give the better!  Let them know if you’re in between sizes..if you are more of a dress or pants person....if you despise the color red or orange (I DO!)
or, if a certain cut or style doesn’t work on your body type...let your stylist know.  I changed my style profile and added more specifics after receiving my first box.
(2) Include a link to a Pinterest board.  Even name the board Stitch Fix and your stylist will know exactly what your style is and maybe even include pieces that you pinned from other people's fix.
(3) Give honest feedback about the items in your box. Don't sugar coat it---  You’re not going to hurt anyone’s feelings by saying you didn’t like something.  Give specifics because it will help your stylist to make your next box spot on.
(4) Ask for items you want to get in your box.  There is a comments section at the end of the style profile--add it there! You may or may not get it but it never hurts to ask.  I asked for the cardigan and got it in my first fix!
(5) Your first fix might not be exactly what you were hoping or looking for...but be patient..as it may take a few tries for your stylist to really understand your preferences.

Okay so now for the pictures.....(which I forgot about until after I opened the box..as you can see here )

Look at the beautiful box..all wrapped up so nicely :)

Loved all the color choices as soon as I pulled it out of the box!! Spring colors :)

So your stylist will send you this letter that explains what is in your fix.  Decide what to keep and what you are going to send back! Then check out online with what you are keeping and returning (there is a survey--be specific tell us which items you are sending back and why!)

They even send you cards about each item in your fix and what you can match it with. This is genius if matching and pairing items is difficult for you! For each item they give you two outfits--it really works if you have similar pieces to those on the cards.

Okay so now for the pictures of the items! I didn't take pictures of them on me...I was too nervous that I was going to get charged the full amount... My fix came on the 18th instead of the 21st...and I just returned it (because I didn't get home the 21st)! SO with that being said.... the pictures are not the greatest!!
The first item is the Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Cardigan-- I LOVED this on pinterest boards and other blogs and asked specifically for it in my fix! Thanks Hannah (my stylist) --BUT the asymmetrical piece did not look the greatest on me and it zipped weird---so back in the box it went! :(

The Rhonwen Striped French Terry and Lace Layer Shirt. This is totally not me with the open back and lace...I did not like the color on me as well as the fit. Just --ew. Back that went as well.

My third piece was the Lexis Tribal Print Henley Tank Top. I asked for tank tops that I could wear with leggings...this was totally it and I was excited when I pulled it out of the box. However...it was too big and the color combo was not the best for me!! This was sad to send back because I wanted to love it!! Boo. Maybe something similar in my next fix!

Okay now this is definitely not me...but I will show you anyways. Alena Long Beaded Layered Necklace. I didn't even try it on....

Last but not least...the ONE item I was obsessed with and got to keep... Waters Diamond Print Maxi Dress...in mint green! Just look at that pattern!!!! Since I kept this piece I was able to try it on for the picture...the mint green even matched my sandals :) Definite keeper ;)

So I picked out the item I wanted to keep and put all the others in the USPS envelope (already stamped and ready to go) that is in the box and off to the post office it went!

I went right away to schedule my next fix...and it is coming May 6th!!! That is only about 2 weeks away...so I can't wait!
