Tried It Tuesday- Food Trucks!

Wow it has been so long since I blogged!!! I can't even begin to explain how crazy this past week and half has been! YIKES! You'll see from my post below how much has been going on. My last post was my Friday Fabulist Linkup...thanks so much to all of those who linked up! Check back this Friday for more Fabulist things!!

Okay so now I am going to link up with my good friend Holly at Fourth Grade Flipper for her Tried It Tuesday link up. I absolutely love this link up and have the PERFECT post to go a long with it.

Tonight I drove into Buffalo for their weekly Food Truck Tuesdays at Larkin Square.

Let me tell you it was many OH MY GOD moments. So every Tuesday from May until October Food Trucks come for 3 hours and you get try all different kinds of food, with drinks and music too!
It was the perfect end to the first day back to school after a long week (extra long for me as I took personal days for an event that I will explain later!!)

Okay so obviously back to the FOOD...I took pictures of everything I ate so you can see how absolutely delicious everything was. (don't worry I split the food so I could try a little of everything)---perfect solution to eating at food trucks. However--I already can't wait to go back to try more, so many trucks I didn't even get to see!!

So many people lined up at all the trucks!!

First stop: The Meat Ball Truck Co. ( I am pretty sure he is from my hometown in Pittsford, NY)--how cool is that!?!

Needless to say--the meatballs were delicious. Just look at them...two meatballs, cheese and garlic bread.

Next stop was Macarollin'---obviously mac n cheese

We tried the bacon mac n cheese...so delicious, but seriously filling! We saved the rest for lunch tomorrow!
At The Great Foodini--we tried the buffalo chicken spring rolls (sorry no picture) I don't know why I didn't take one!! Maybe because there was a complete downpour as we were waiting in line!!!

We also went to The Whole  Hog and go a pulled pork Asian slaw baguette. This was not my favorite..I had one bite and that was enough for me :) Sorry no picture!!

So many food trucks! We were definitely enjoying all the different foods :)

Can't complete a meal without dessert..... Supernatural Sundae from The Sweet Hearth

Definitely a well worth it Tried it Tuesday :)

Check out my next post today about my weekend and Stitch Fix Review #3!!

Tried It Tuesday- Go Noodle and More!

So I haven't had a chance to blog in a few days because I have been super busy...once you read this post (which is going to be quite long..sorry about that :/....you will understand why!!

First I am linking up with the wonderful Holly at Fourth Grade Flipper for Tried It Tuesday. It is so funny that her tried it tuesday was Go Noodle...mine is too!! I guess great minds think a like :) I have been reading a lot about Go Noodle on other blogs...and I just had to try it myself! My kids absolutely loved it..especially with testing being over..what a great way to end each day in resource room! I only have 4 students in resource room so it is a small group...but they definitely have a ton of fun!! I highly recommend if you haven't tried it...go download it now, your kids will thank you, I promise!

They LOVED the Sprints and the song LET IT GO (obviously).

I am also linking up with My Carolina Classroom for her first ever link up!! Timesaver Tuesdays ...... This link up is about saving time...because as teachers...we barely have any time anyways!! So my time saver this week is to organize materials for each subject ahead of time and color code them based on subject so when you go looking or materials for the week..everything is already there ready to go. I like to keep my desk as organized as possible so these 10 tray organizer carts are perfect!!

Red is Reading
Orange is Writing
Green is Math
Blue is Social Studies
Purple is Science

Now to link up from the weekend since I was so busy with Weekend Windback
My weekend was so full of exciting things! First was one of my really good friend's BABY SHOWER. The theme was a rain shower...absolutely PERFECT in every way!
Since she is having a baby girl everything was PINK and adorable. The cake was absolutely delicious...and the outside may look like fondant...but it isn't, just frosting! Amazing!

The tables were set perfectly with beautiful flowers in mason jars and pink napkins, straws and table cards.  I didn't take a picutre of the food..but you can see it in the background...yummy!

When we arrived..each place setting had "Wishes for Baby." We had to fill these out for what we would wish for for the baby! (It was a lot harder than it looked!!) haha Obviously I wrote down "I hope you appreciate your teachers" lol The mommy-to-be is also a teacher :)
Look at how adorable these shower gifts are!!! Mommy-to-be loves pinterest just as much as I do.
The little cloud (rain shower) said from my shower...to yours! A loofa with a little shower gel bottle. LOVE
While we were chatting with others at our table...there were obviously baby shower games to be played! The first was The Price Is Right..there were items on a table we had to guess the price that was paid for each and get a total..all the items totaled about 50$!

Mommy-to-be opening up my gift! The grey box cane be used in the baby's room for toys or whatever..found it at TJMaxx!
Such a fun shower with a wonderful friend and her soon to be baby girl!

Also over the weekend I went to a Japanese restaurant for hibachi! Sooo good but very filling!

I hope everyone had a wonderful CINCO DE MAYO!
Also I hope everyone is enjoying Teacher Appreciation Week!!! I am so thankful for the teachers I work with :) Please make sure you enjoy the discounts at TPT and don't forget to check out my new TPT store!!!

Tried it Tuesday- Stitch Fix Arrived!!! Fix Review #1

Yessss best Tuesday ever! Yesterday when I got back to my apartment from being at my parents for Spring Break...there on the front porch was my STITCH FIX! Wooo. I couldn't have been more excited to get home.
Of course the first thing I did (instead of unpack) was open the box!!!
So I am linking up with Holly over at Fourth Grade Flipper for this tried it Tuesday...which I "tried" on all of my stitch fix pieces.

check out Stitch Fix, an online personal styling serviceOkay so for those of you who do not know about Stitch Fix...it is amazing.
I found out about it through blogging (oh the wonderful things you learn through blogging!!) I just loved the idea...especially being obsessed with fashion and clothes. I just had to try to out! So all you have to do is  pay a $20 styling fee to get a "fix" and five clothing/accessory items are sent to your home.
Then you get to try them on, in the convenience of your home. If you LOVE all five pieces you can receive 25% off your purchase. Or you can keep whatever you want or none at all (If you don't keep anything..you still have to pay the $20 styling fee) -- If you do decide to keep anything, your $20 styling fee goes towards your purchase. How amazing is that!? Even if you just like one piece from your fix..it is totally worth it!

To get started..before you schedule a fix, you get to fill out a style profile and let your stylist know exactly what you like and what you don't like. Be as specific as you can--  what type of items you do or do not want sent to you. Best part is you can pick price ranges as well as different styles--- So if you request clothing items around $50-100 a piece, you won't get sent anything above that like a $200 dress. Below are what some questions are on your profile.

Some important things that I figured out from reading other blogs and following boards on pinterest.....
(1) Be detailed in your style profile.  The more info you give the better!  Let them know if you’re in between sizes..if you are more of a dress or pants person....if you despise the color red or orange (I DO!)
or, if a certain cut or style doesn’t work on your body type...let your stylist know.  I changed my style profile and added more specifics after receiving my first box.
(2) Include a link to a Pinterest board.  Even name the board Stitch Fix and your stylist will know exactly what your style is and maybe even include pieces that you pinned from other people's fix.
(3) Give honest feedback about the items in your box. Don't sugar coat it---  You’re not going to hurt anyone’s feelings by saying you didn’t like something.  Give specifics because it will help your stylist to make your next box spot on.
(4) Ask for items you want to get in your box.  There is a comments section at the end of the style profile--add it there! You may or may not get it but it never hurts to ask.  I asked for the cardigan and got it in my first fix!
(5) Your first fix might not be exactly what you were hoping or looking for...but be patient..as it may take a few tries for your stylist to really understand your preferences.

Okay so now for the pictures.....(which I forgot about until after I opened the box..as you can see here )

Look at the beautiful box..all wrapped up so nicely :)

Loved all the color choices as soon as I pulled it out of the box!! Spring colors :)

So your stylist will send you this letter that explains what is in your fix.  Decide what to keep and what you are going to send back! Then check out online with what you are keeping and returning (there is a survey--be specific tell us which items you are sending back and why!)

They even send you cards about each item in your fix and what you can match it with. This is genius if matching and pairing items is difficult for you! For each item they give you two outfits--it really works if you have similar pieces to those on the cards.

Okay so now for the pictures of the items! I didn't take pictures of them on me...I was too nervous that I was going to get charged the full amount... My fix came on the 18th instead of the 21st...and I just returned it (because I didn't get home the 21st)! SO with that being said.... the pictures are not the greatest!!
The first item is the Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Cardigan-- I LOVED this on pinterest boards and other blogs and asked specifically for it in my fix! Thanks Hannah (my stylist) --BUT the asymmetrical piece did not look the greatest on me and it zipped weird---so back in the box it went! :(

The Rhonwen Striped French Terry and Lace Layer Shirt. This is totally not me with the open back and lace...I did not like the color on me as well as the fit. Just --ew. Back that went as well.

My third piece was the Lexis Tribal Print Henley Tank Top. I asked for tank tops that I could wear with leggings...this was totally it and I was excited when I pulled it out of the box. However...it was too big and the color combo was not the best for me!! This was sad to send back because I wanted to love it!! Boo. Maybe something similar in my next fix!

Okay now this is definitely not me...but I will show you anyways. Alena Long Beaded Layered Necklace. I didn't even try it on....

Last but not least...the ONE item I was obsessed with and got to keep... Waters Diamond Print Maxi Dress...in mint green! Just look at that pattern!!!! Since I kept this piece I was able to try it on for the picture...the mint green even matched my sandals :) Definite keeper ;)

So I picked out the item I wanted to keep and put all the others in the USPS envelope (already stamped and ready to go) that is in the box and off to the post office it went!

I went right away to schedule my next fix...and it is coming May 6th!!! That is only about 2 weeks away...so I can't wait!
