Tried it Tuesday- Stitch Fix Arrived!!! Fix Review #1

Yessss best Tuesday ever! Yesterday when I got back to my apartment from being at my parents for Spring Break...there on the front porch was my STITCH FIX! Wooo. I couldn't have been more excited to get home.
Of course the first thing I did (instead of unpack) was open the box!!!
So I am linking up with Holly over at Fourth Grade Flipper for this tried it Tuesday...which I "tried" on all of my stitch fix pieces.

check out Stitch Fix, an online personal styling serviceOkay so for those of you who do not know about Stitch Fix...it is amazing.
I found out about it through blogging (oh the wonderful things you learn through blogging!!) I just loved the idea...especially being obsessed with fashion and clothes. I just had to try to out! So all you have to do is  pay a $20 styling fee to get a "fix" and five clothing/accessory items are sent to your home.
Then you get to try them on, in the convenience of your home. If you LOVE all five pieces you can receive 25% off your purchase. Or you can keep whatever you want or none at all (If you don't keep anything..you still have to pay the $20 styling fee) -- If you do decide to keep anything, your $20 styling fee goes towards your purchase. How amazing is that!? Even if you just like one piece from your fix..it is totally worth it!

To get started..before you schedule a fix, you get to fill out a style profile and let your stylist know exactly what you like and what you don't like. Be as specific as you can--  what type of items you do or do not want sent to you. Best part is you can pick price ranges as well as different styles--- So if you request clothing items around $50-100 a piece, you won't get sent anything above that like a $200 dress. Below are what some questions are on your profile.

Some important things that I figured out from reading other blogs and following boards on pinterest.....
(1) Be detailed in your style profile.  The more info you give the better!  Let them know if you’re in between sizes..if you are more of a dress or pants person....if you despise the color red or orange (I DO!)
or, if a certain cut or style doesn’t work on your body type...let your stylist know.  I changed my style profile and added more specifics after receiving my first box.
(2) Include a link to a Pinterest board.  Even name the board Stitch Fix and your stylist will know exactly what your style is and maybe even include pieces that you pinned from other people's fix.
(3) Give honest feedback about the items in your box. Don't sugar coat it---  You’re not going to hurt anyone’s feelings by saying you didn’t like something.  Give specifics because it will help your stylist to make your next box spot on.
(4) Ask for items you want to get in your box.  There is a comments section at the end of the style profile--add it there! You may or may not get it but it never hurts to ask.  I asked for the cardigan and got it in my first fix!
(5) Your first fix might not be exactly what you were hoping or looking for...but be patient..as it may take a few tries for your stylist to really understand your preferences.

Okay so now for the pictures.....(which I forgot about until after I opened the box..as you can see here )

Look at the beautiful box..all wrapped up so nicely :)

Loved all the color choices as soon as I pulled it out of the box!! Spring colors :)

So your stylist will send you this letter that explains what is in your fix.  Decide what to keep and what you are going to send back! Then check out online with what you are keeping and returning (there is a survey--be specific tell us which items you are sending back and why!)

They even send you cards about each item in your fix and what you can match it with. This is genius if matching and pairing items is difficult for you! For each item they give you two outfits--it really works if you have similar pieces to those on the cards.

Okay so now for the pictures of the items! I didn't take pictures of them on me...I was too nervous that I was going to get charged the full amount... My fix came on the 18th instead of the 21st...and I just returned it (because I didn't get home the 21st)! SO with that being said.... the pictures are not the greatest!!
The first item is the Alan Cowl Neck Asymmetrical Cardigan-- I LOVED this on pinterest boards and other blogs and asked specifically for it in my fix! Thanks Hannah (my stylist) --BUT the asymmetrical piece did not look the greatest on me and it zipped weird---so back in the box it went! :(

The Rhonwen Striped French Terry and Lace Layer Shirt. This is totally not me with the open back and lace...I did not like the color on me as well as the fit. Just --ew. Back that went as well.

My third piece was the Lexis Tribal Print Henley Tank Top. I asked for tank tops that I could wear with leggings...this was totally it and I was excited when I pulled it out of the box. However...it was too big and the color combo was not the best for me!! This was sad to send back because I wanted to love it!! Boo. Maybe something similar in my next fix!

Okay now this is definitely not me...but I will show you anyways. Alena Long Beaded Layered Necklace. I didn't even try it on....

Last but not least...the ONE item I was obsessed with and got to keep... Waters Diamond Print Maxi Dress...in mint green! Just look at that pattern!!!! Since I kept this piece I was able to try it on for the picture...the mint green even matched my sandals :) Definite keeper ;)

So I picked out the item I wanted to keep and put all the others in the USPS envelope (already stamped and ready to go) that is in the box and off to the post office it went!

I went right away to schedule my next fix...and it is coming May 6th!!! That is only about 2 weeks away...so I can't wait!

Tried it Tuesday- nails for days

I am lovinggg the fact that this is post number 3 since I started back in the blogging community! It's the little things in life....

Okay so today...I am obviously linking up  with my blogging buddy Fourth Grade Flipper for Tried It Tuesday!! Thankfully Holly left this open for two weeks! Thank you thank you! This is going to be an easy post....and it is more for the Style Closet portion of my blog....But I LOVE that I tried this many months ago...

http://fourthgradeflipper.blogspot.com/2014/04/tried-it-tuesday-intermediate-science.html

Do you hate to wait for your nails to dry...or as soon as you think they are dry and you go to do something, they smudge. How about gelish...Yes it is fast...but the UV rays and afterwards it can ruin your nails?! Okay I have the solution...Jamberry?!?! Has anyone every heard of it?!?! It is absolutely amazing. I have to admit..I was hesitant to try it..and I was like why would I spend money on stickers for my nails...that doesn't make sense! Except for the fact that it makes total sense...it is easy...doesn't ruin my nails....the designs are fabulous...the price is right ($15 for a pack that you can at least get 2 sets of manicure/pedicure out of) and it lasts for TWO WEEKS...just like the gelish (but better). You can do it right in the comfort of your own home with a hairdryer to heat up the sticky part. They also can be applied over nailpolish, acrylic or gelish nails. There are sooo many different designs and colors to choose from. I first heard about it at one of the consultant parties like (marykay, lia sophia, pampered chef, thirtyone etc)
Well now I have added Jamberry to my list of must haves and you should too!! I ordered it through the consultant that was at the party...but I think you can just order it without being in a party.

This was my second order of Jamberry...spring colors. Clearly had to get the purple/orchid (far left) since it is the color of the season. Shamrocks for St. Patricks Day. The Blue Robbins egg color for Easter (I will post that later) and chevron chevron chevron!! Fantastic

This was my first set....snowmen HOW CUTE are those?! My students LOVED them and thought I actually designed it myself. Ha! Perfect for the winter holiday.

Then my friend/teaching buddy Morgan...who introduced me to these wonderful nail designs....had these sent to her for hosting a party. I was SOO obsessed with them (seriously who wouldn't be)...she let me take some of hers! Obviously she was able to get a full set out of them too. :) How perfectly well they matched my snowflake pajamas for pajama day at school AND Christmas morning! Thanks Morgan..you are the best!!

I also had a wonderful black and silver set for New Years Eve...no picture though :(
Next holiday of course...Valentines Day....LOVE these little hearts!
The other thing I REALLY LOVE about Jamberry....you can mix and match the designs. I chose a matte grey with mint green chevron. So chic. Ignore the awful cuticles...I didn't say Jamberry gave you a manicure haha.

Clearly you have to try these and I promise you will love them as much as I do! Did I mention they also have Jamberry for kids!?! Also--the ultimate gift of all...it is always buy 3 get 1 free!!! Gotta love a deal.

As I was typing all about Jamberry... I realized my other Tried It Tuesday that I can mention..is the Post Settings on the blog where I can write posts ahead of time and schedule them to post on certain days/times. This is so helpful for when I am busy...now there are no excuses for not posting!! Love to learn something new everyday :)

Also--does anyone know how to fix under layout...my "add gadget" is not working and there are more I want to add! HELP! Thanks :)

I am also looking into creating my own linky party...who wants to help me create a button!? THANKS!

Please don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin...I would really appreciate it!!
